A Northern Light Chapter 45 Summary

This chapter takes place in the flashback.

Weaver was sad about his mother's house burning down. Mattie was confused about Emmie Hubbard, she took in Weaver's mamma and Mattie's Pa said that her kids hadn't been over to breakfast since the fire. She had been selling biscuits and pies. The 3 men had a lot more charges, but they hadn't been seen and they were probably halfway to Canada. Weaver said that he was going to still work at the Glenmore after Labor Day, because he had to look out for his mom, Emmie's land was going to be auctioned off in a month and he couldn't leave her even if he did get a scholarship. There was always next fall he said. Mattie told him to go before he was stuck here, like her.
