A Northern Light Chapter 44 Summary

This chapter takes place in the flashback.

Mattie's father came at the end of lunch service and told them that Weaver's mamma's house had burned down. Weaver raced there but Cook made the rest of them stay until after lunch was over. When they got there they saw Lincoln and her livestock killed, and there was no doubt this wasn't an accident. The 3 trappers who got into a fight with Weaver had gotten out and weren't happy about the jail time, they took all of Weaver's college money, burned the house, and killed every animal except the pig, which ran into the woods. They also fought Weaver's mamma, and broke her arm.
