A Northern Light Chapter 43 Summary

This chapter takes place in the flashback.

Table six had gone too far. Fran, Mattie, and Ada decided to set him straight. Fran came up with the plan, when the three of them went on a walk with Hamlet at his favorite spot to go to the bathroom. They asked for permission to swim after breakfast service, and Mattie wrote a note inticing him to come. They tied a rope and hid it with ferns and leaves, when he was running after fran, Mattie pulled the rope which tripped him and sent him flying into the manure. They all laughed, and then went swimming. He couldn't say anything because of what he had done to them. No one got to serve him food for the rest of the day because he was so upset that he was in his room for the rest of the day.
