A Northern Light Chapter 30 Summary

This takes place in the flashback.

Mattie gets her first tip, not knowing what to do with the money until Weaver says to keep it. She is a mess on her first few days, running behind and adjusting. She talks about her tables and the customers there, Seven made fun of her for not knowing about Indians and Weaver told them to visit an Indian who did not like to be bothered as payback for that and for calling him colored. Then one guy flashed her and tipped her $1. Cook is harsh and orders everyone around, and told Fran, Weaver, and Mattie to get back to work or they would be fired.
