A Northern Light Chapter 19 Summary

This chapter occurs when she is working at the Glenmore.

Mattie comes down to talk to Grace's dead body about the letters and get some answers. She tells Grace she shouldn't havce given her the letters it could cost her her job, and she was to be married (WHAT?). Then there was confusion about Chester and Carl, and said that she wouldn't read anymore letters. But she does, 2. We find out that she is from South Otselic and is coming back to Cortland. Hoping for good news she reads another. she is ill, and reads a letter that said that it was better for Chester that Grace left. In com Mr. Sperry and Mr. Morrison back from searching, talking about how Mattie thought that his name was Chester, and hout there are Gillette's in Cortland and South Ostelic is near there. Where was the body, there was no current. Then Mr. Morrison check the messages (wiring, telegrams, ect.) and they got a wire from the police station saying that there is no one named Carl Grahm in Albany . . .
