A Northern Light Chapter 18 Summary

This chapter takes place in the flashback.

Even after before, when her father had told her that if she leaves she can't come back she still wishes to goto New York. The family had an abundance of cream and milk and butter because 12 of the 20 cows had calved. When Uncle Fifty doesn't return, their suspicions are answered by Mr. Eckler bring home the bacon (i had to say it) for the milk said that he was headed to another logging job. Beth was upset because he had promised to take her to the circus, and Mattie because he had promised her the money for NY. She then reflects on all the people leaving: her mom, brother, and now her uncle, she then is ashamed that she wanted to leave.
